The Taliban attacked America indirectly, stating that there is no need for Western laws in Afghanistan. Taliban leader Hibetullah Akhundzada made this comment while preaching on Eid-ul-Fitr at Idgah Mosque in Kandahar. The 50 -minute audio of this sermon was shared by Jabhulla Mujahid, the chief spokesperson of the Taliban government, on the social media platform ‘X’.
Emphasizing the importance of Islamic laws, Akhundzada said, “There is no need for the laws of Western countries. We will make our own laws.” Akhundzada criticized the West on Sunday, saying that non-Muslims have united against Muslims.
The Taliban leader, citing the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, said that the US and other countries together have shown enmity towards Islam. Akhundzada said that democracy in Afghanistan has ended and Sharia is applicable.
The Taliban has denied Afghan women and girls, depriving them to education, many jobs and most public places. Such steps have isolated the Taliban on the global platform but have established diplomatic relations with many countries including China and the United Arab Emirates.
