Suspension of Indus Water Treaty

Appeal to neutralize water bomb
Referring to India the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, a Pakistan opposition leader on Friday urged the government to ‘inactive’ the ‘water bomb’ to avoid famine in the country.
War -like predictions over water
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party senator Ali Zafar told the Senate, ‘Lack of water is a war being imposed on us. The predictions of fighting war over water in the 21st century are proving to be true.
Famine may have to face
He said, ‘If we do not solve our issues of water, then we may have to face famine. Sindhu is our lifeline. This is actually a ‘water bomb’ hanging over us, which we have to deactivate. ‘
26 people were killed in Pahalgam terror attack
