Hong Kong: There is increasing tactics in relations between China and America. On Monday, China announced that it would ban the US MPs, officials and heads of NGOs (NGOs) who have not played the role properly in cases related to Hong Kong. The decision has been taken by the US in response to a ban on six Chinese and Hong Kong officials in March. The US had accused these officials of “internationally repression” and weakening of Hong Kong’s autonomy. These include Justice Minister Paul Lam, Security Director Dong Jingvei and former Police Commissioner Raymond Siu.
China’s commentary comments
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun has strongly criticized the US in Beijing. Jiyakun has made a strong comment, describing America’s move as disgusting. He said that it is serious intervention in Hong Kong cases and violation of international law. He warned that Hong Kong is an internal matter of China and China will strictly respond to any external interference.
Tension between America and China is at its peak
Guo Jiyakun said that this action is being taken under China’s ‘Anti -External Affairs Act’. However, he did not clarify which American individuals would be banned. This latest controversy has come at a time when commercial tension between the US and China is already at its peak. China has also warned other countries not to make business agreements with the US which are against China’s interests. (AP)
