The Pakistan Army said that out of 26 bounds killed by militants of the Balochistan Liberation Army who ambushed a train in Balochistan, 18 were the army and paramilitary force personnel.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said during a press conference with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti that 26 hostages were killed by militants before the start of the army campaign. He said, “26 hostages included 18 personnel of the army and paramilitary forces, three other government officials and five citizens. “
Chaudhary also said that five personnel of Frontier Corps were killed during the campaign, including four personnel of Frontier Corps, who were killed by militants during the train attack.
The militants of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) ambushed more than 400 passengers carrying more than 400 passengers in Balochistan’s Bolon area on Tuesday and attacked the passengers, after which the security forces started a campaign that lasted till evening the next day.
Security forces on Wednesday killed all 33 militants by entering the abducted train and ending the situation for 30 hours, while successfully saved more than 300 passengers. A army spokesman said a total of 354 hostages were rescued, including 37 injured passengers.
Chaudhary once again accused India of creating unrest in the province. He said, “Our Eastern neighbor is the main sponsor of terrorism in Pakistan.”
A Pakistani Army spokesperson also showed an alleged video of former Indian Navy official Kulbhushan Jadhav, allegedly confessed to the involvement of India’s detective agency Raw in terrorist activities in Balochistan.
He shared the statements of some Indian leaders and officials including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval about terrorism and then commented that “Jaffer train attack was a part of the same scheme”.
Earlier in the day, India rejected its allegations of supporting terrorism against Pakistan and said that Islamabad should look into itself before blaming others for its ‘failures’. India also said that the whole world knows that “where is the center of global terrorism”.
The Pakistan Army spokesperson also said that this train attack could be related to Afghanistan and he also showed a clip of Afghan militants killed in various campaigns in Pakistan.
Talking about the discrepancy in the number of passengers boarding the train and the number of people who boarded the train, Chief Minister Bugti said that 425 tickets were issued by the Railways, but may not all climb from that station, while some were expected to climb from other stations.
The army spokesman said that Pakistan’s security forces are running around 180 intelligence campaigns per day to end the threat of terrorism. He said that 59,775 campaigns were conducted in 2024 and 11,654 campaigns have been conducted in 2025 so far.
