Hindu temple in Pakistan
Lahore: The Government of Pakistan has prepared a ‘master plan’ at a cost of one billion Pakistani rupee for renovation and beautification of temples and gurdwaras in the country. The decision was taken under the chairmanship of its chief Syed Atur Rahman at a meeting of ‘Evacui Trust Property Board’ (ETPB) here. Rahman said, “Under the master plan, temples and gurdwaras will be renovated and decorated and development works will be done with a budget of one billion Pakistani rupee.”

Syed Atur Rahman said that a lot of money is being spent on taking care of the places of worship of minorities. Rahman also said that ETPB has received revenue of more than one billion rupees this year. The meeting was attended by members of Hindu and Sikh communities from across the country as well as government and non-government members.

Revenue will increase
Board Secretary Farid Iqbal, who is talking about the need to amend the ETPB development scheme, told the members that after making changes in the scheme for the purpose of increasing the income of the department, the assets of the trust are now being presented for development. He said, “The revenue of the department will increase manifold by giving such lands for development for a long time,” he said.

It was also decided to appoint a project director for the development and renovation works in various temples and gurdwaras and a project director for operational works at the ‘Project Management Unit Kartarpur Corridor’ in the Evacui Trust Property Board meeting. (Language)
