Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday claimed that the Director General of Military Operations of Pakistan and India spoke on the hotline to discuss the ceasefire. He said that there will be talks between the DGMOs of the two countries on 18 May. India and Pakistan agreed on May 10 to stop military conflicts after drone and missile attacks from across the border for 4 days.

Indian side did not respond

Dar told Parliament that Pakistan’s DGMO Major General Kashif Abdullah and his Indian counterpart Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai spoke on the hotline on Wednesday afternoon. There is no response from the Indian side to this claim of Dar. An Indian Army official said in New Delhi, “It has been decided to continue the measures for restoration of confidence as per the consent between the DGMOs of the two countries on May 10, 2025.”

‘There will be talks again on May 18’

In Parliament, Dar said that both DGMOs will talk again on 18 May. No details of the talks were shared, except that the two sides agreed to honor the ceasefire. According to the news of ‘Geo News’, Dar said, “The ceasefire was extended till May 12 during the DGMO conversation (on May 10). When the DGMO spoke again on 12 May, the ceasefire was extended till 14 May and the ceasefire has been extended till 18 May after 14 May.

Dar gave jackal

Meanwhile, let us also tell here that recently Ishaq Dar had said in an interview to CNN that the ceasefire could be in danger if the issue between India and Pakistan does not resolve the issue of Indus Water Treaty. If this matter is not resolved, it will be considered as ‘Act of War’. (Language)
