Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Islamabad: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is now in trouble. The government has now filed a new case against him. Pakistan’s top investigation agency has filed this case against jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan on charges of inciting government officials to rebellion through social media posts. According to media reports, a team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) comprising investigation and technical officials reached Adiala Jail to question Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party founder Khan in connection with a controversial post on his official ‘X’ account.
The FIA has registered a case against Khan for inciting rebellion against government officials, Dawn newspaper quoted sources as saying. Khan (71) insisted that he would not allow questioning without the presence of his lawyers, after which the FIA personnel left. Khan, who has been lodged in Adiala jail since last year, has often criticised the army on X.
Imran has accused the Pak Army Chief
Imran Khan wrote on his ‘X’ account on Friday, “This is not the first time in the history of this country that a person (referring to Army Chief General Asim Munir) has put the whole country at stake to maintain his hold on power. (General) Yahya Khan also betrayed the Awami League and Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to remain in power. He put Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir in the dock without naming him. (Language)
