TTP attacks have increased in Pakistan in the last few months.
Islamabad: At least 8 people were killed in a suicide attack targeting a police post in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday. According to the information given by the sources, many people have also been injured in the attack. It is being told that this explosion took place at Aslam check post in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district bordering Afghanistan. Sources said that the attackers riding on 3 wheelers hit the check post and security forces vehicles, killing at least 8 people.
‘The number of casualties may increase’
According to sources, those killed include 4 policemen, 2 soldiers and 2 civilians. Sources said that several other people were injured in the blast and were admitted to Miran Shah Hospital. He said the number of casualties may increase. Let us tell you that till now no organization has taken responsibility for the attack. Meanwhile, security forces have surrounded the area. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has condemned the attack and said that action against terrorist organizations will continue until they are completely eliminated from the region.
There was also an attack in Dera Ismail Khan
Let us tell you that just a few hours ago, terrorists had attacked a check post in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, in which 10 security personnel were killed and 3 others were injured. A police official had said that the security personnel were killed in an encounter following the attack on Thursday at a check post in Daraban area of Dera Ismail Khan district. According to the officer, a contingent of soldiers reached the spot immediately after the attack and an operation was launched to arrest the attackers. Another officer said 10 soldiers lost their lives in the attack.
Tehreek-e-Taliban is active in the area
Let us tell you that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan i.e. TTP is active in this area and Pakistan’s security forces have been targeted in many such attacks. Pakistan has been continuously accusing TTP of carrying out activities from safe havens in Afghanistan. There has been an increase in incidents of terrorism in Pakistan since the formation of Taliban government in Kabul in 2021.
