Former PM Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif
India has destroyed the terrorist bases of Pakistan, giving a befitting reply to the Pahalgam terror attack. Former PM Nawaz Sharif has also returned to his home from London amidst India-Pakistan tension. He is holding meetings with his leaders in Islamabad.
Shahbaz Sharif meeting late Thursday evening
Nawaz Sharif, the head of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), attended a security meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence late Thursday evening. Nawaz Sharif advised his younger brother and current Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif to reduce diplomatic tension with India.
Pakistan’s operation scared of India’s operation
In response to the Pahalgam terror attack on 22 April, the tension between India and Pakistan has increased significantly after India’s Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday. After this, Pakistan tried unsuccessfully to attack 15 Indian cities. There is a stir in Pakistan from Operation Sindoor in India.
Nawaz Sharif is not in favor of adopting aggressive stance
Pakistan’s newspaper The Express Tribune said that former PM Nawaz Sharif wants the government to use all available diplomatic resources to restore peace between the two nuclear-head states. Nawaz Sharif was quoted as saying that I (against India) are not in favor of taking an aggressive stand.
Had to come back after increasing tension
Express Tribune said that Nawaz Sharif has returned from London to Pakistan to reduce tension between the two countries. He was working from behind the curtain. Nawaz Sharif has to formally come forward on Thursday amid increasing tension.
Nawaz Sharif attended the high-level civil-monsundion meeting convened at PM House to assess Indo-Pak tension. The newspaper said that since he does not have any government department, he attended the meeting as the head of the ruling party government.
Please tell that Nawaz Sharif was the Prime Minister during the 1999 Kargil War. Meanwhile, on Friday, the National Assembly (Pakistani Parliament) unanimously supported Pakistan’s military response against India. Pakistan has described it as a demonstration of national unity. (With input of PTI)
