Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif spoke to Mohammad Yunus for the first time after the coup in Bangladesh – India TV English

Islamabad: For the first time after the coup in Bangladesh, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif today spoke on the phone with Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus. Now it is expected that this will lead to a new beginning of relations between the two countries. Bangladesh’s BNP, whose head is Khalid Zia, has been a strong supporter of Pakistan. Now it is believed that Khalid Zia will be in power. In such a situation, relations between the two countries can become cordial. Shahbaz and Yunus agreed to work together for the progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh.

In such a situation, it is believed that both countries can become friends in future. According to an official statement issued here, during the telephone conversation, they also agreed that “more regional cooperation can play an important role in improving the lives of the people of South Asia.” Sharif’s phone conversation with Yunus is the first high-level direct contact between the leaders of the two countries after the change of government in Bangladesh. Prime Minister Sharif emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in various fields and “reviving bilateral relations”. He emphasized on shared historical, religious and cultural ties and expressed a “deep desire to increase commercial relations, cultural exchange and people-to-people contact”.

Sharif congratulated Mohammad Yunus

Sharif congratulated Yunus on assuming the leadership of the interim government of Bangladesh. He conveyed his best wishes to the Chief Adviser to the Bangladesh government and hoped that the goodwill between the two countries will translate into substantial cooperation in the interest of their people. Sharif expressed condolences on the devastation caused by the recent floods in Bangladesh and expressed his willingness to help. Yunus thanked Sharif for the phone call and congratulatory message after being sworn in as Chief Adviser. (Language)
