Peshawar: In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, the mood has caused huge havoc. At least 3 people, including 2 women, died in the incidents of heavy rains, hailstorms and celestial lightning occurred on Tuesday night. Seven people are also reported missing. Many houses have also been damaged due to heavy rains.

Loss of life and property

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a preliminary report and gave details of the loss of life and property. According to the report, at least 9 houses have suffered partial damage due to bad weather. These incidents have taken place in the districts of Swabi, Peshawar, Shangla, Swat and Haripur.

The injured get better treatment

The PDMA has directed the concerned district administration to provide immediate relief to the affected families and provide better medical facilities to the injured. The authority has also instructed the concerned departments to use all available resources to restart the blocked roads due to rain.

Helpline number released

This mood of the weather is expected to remain till 31 May. Officials said that the Emergency Operations Center of PDMA is working in coordination with all the concerned departments and relief agencies. Citizens have been advised to report any emergency or untoward incident by calling the PDMA helpline number 1700. (Language)
