Pakistani Hindu women (symbolic)
Karachi: Even after India’s “Operation Sindoor”, Pakistan does not appear to be determined by its antics. Pakistan has once again signed a vermilion of a Hindu woman. The case is related to Sindh province of Pakistan. According to the information, a case of kidnapping a woman from a minority Hindu community and forcibly converting her and then getting married to a Muslim youth on the strength of strength has come to light. The victim’s family has claimed that the woman was forced to abduct a Muslim person without her will.
The incident is from Dighari area of Mirpurkhas district of South Sindh province, from where the woman was allegedly abducted and carried out the incident. The victim’s husband and four children raised their voice on the matter on Wednesday and requested the government and administration for help.
NGO accused police of negligence
Shiva Kachi, head of ‘Darwar Ittehad Pakistan’, a prominent NGO working for minority rights in Pakistan, said that “the woman was kidnapped, she was forcibly confessed to Islam and then married to a Muslim man named Shahbaz Khakkheli.” He also alleged that the local police have not yet registered an FIR in the case and the victim’s family is not getting any support. Hence, “We are now going to knock on the door of the court.”
Husband heard the incident
The woman’s husband said in a conversation with the media, “Last week, Shahbaz Khashkheli and his colleagues forcibly picked up my wife from our house. Two days later they took her to a religious place where she was converted. Then, without her consent, her marriage was done with Khakheli.” The husband raised the question, “Is this justice to the minorities in Pakistan? Is there no respect for our women?”
Question on safety of minorities
This incident in Pakistan raises serious questions on the safety, freedom and religious rights of Hindu, Sikh and Christian minorities, especially women. Human rights organizations have long alleged that forced conversion of minor girls and women in the country is a growing problem, in which the inactivity of local administration is also seen. These criminals get the support of police-administration. (Language)
