Six people died after falling a roof of a house in Afghan Basti in Karachi, Pakistan. The officers provided this information.
A senior police official said that construction work was being done in a house in Afghan Basti on the outskirts of Karachi, when the roof collapsed on Saturday night.
There are several neighborhoods of Afghan refugees in the outskirts of Karachi, commonly known as Afghan Basti.
Four other people, including two children, have also been injured in the incident of falling the roof of the house, one of whom is said to be critical.
In-charge of Gulshan-e-Maymer police station (SHO) Aga Asadullah said that 10 members of the family were sleeping when the roof fell.
Asadullah said, “Four girls died on the spot, while two girls were declared dead in the hospital.”
Police Surgeon Dr. Summaiah Syed said that five girls who lost their lives are seven, eight, 10, 14 and 20 years old.
Asadullah said that the house was in an old and dilapidated state.
