How did the train hijack?
The Jafar Express, which was going from Quetta to Peshawar, was forcibly stopped by Baloch militants in Bolan area of Balochistan. The militants exploded and derailed the train and took the passengers hostage.
There were about 450 passengers in the train, including women and children. The terrorists threatened that if their demands were not met, they would kill all the hostages.
Pak Army action and encounter
After the incident, Pakistani security forces surrounded the train and started the operation against the terrorists. According to Pak media, 70–80 BLA fighters were involved in the attack, who wore suicide jackets and shield passengers.
The Special Squad of the Pak Army killed all the terrorists after an encounter that lasted for hours. However, it is not yet clear how many of the passengers have been injured or killed.
