Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir said that Islamabad would never compromise on water issue as it is associated with the fundamental rights of the country’s 24 million people.
According to the army, General Munir made this comment in a conversation with Vice Chancellors, Principal and senior teachers and academics of various universities. He said, “Pakistan will never accept Indian suzerainty.”
Referring to India’s move to postpone the Indus Water Treaty after the Pahalgam terror attack, he said, “We will not allow any compromise on this basic rights of 24 crore Pakistanis.”
Munir also claimed that militants in Balochistan have the support of India and the terrorists who spread disturbance in the province are related to Baloch people.
The tension between India and Pakistan has increased after the terrorist attack on 22 April in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. 26 people lost their lives in this attack.
