At the Overseas Pakistani Convention held on Wednesday in Islamabad, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir once again termed India and Pakistan as two different nations, citing two-nation theory. In his address, he said, “Our ancestors believed that we are different from Hindus in every aspect of life. Our religion is different, our customs are different, our traditions, thinking and ambitions are different. From there the foundation of two-nation theory was laid. We are two nations, not one.”
Munir said that many generations have sacrificed to make Pakistan and now we all have the responsibility to save the country. He said, “Our ancestors have made great sacrifices for the construction of Pakistan, and we know how to protect it.”
He appealed to the youth and overseas Pakistanis to tell the story of Pakistan to the next generations. “It should be the third, fourth or fifth generation, they should know what Pakistan matters to them,” Munir said.
He also gave strict message about terrorism in Balochistan. He said, “We will teach these terrorists a lesson very soon. Does Pakistan feel that 1500 terrorists can snatch Balochistan from us?… Even if the terrorists come for ten generations, they cannot spoil Pakistan and Balochistan.”
Munir also appreciated the commitment of overseas Pakistanis to the nation and said that the army is standing with full force against terrorism.
