Pakistan declared a member of the Indian High Commission to be involved in activities contrary to the privileged situation, and declared him a “unwanted person”.
A statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs also said that the concerned officer has been instructed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours.
It said, “The Government of Pakistan has declared a member of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad as an unwanted person due to his involvement in activities contrary to his privileged position.”
The statement said in the statement that the Indian High Commissioner was called to the Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday and was made aware of this decision.
Earlier, India asked to leave the country in 24 hours, expecting a Pakistani officer working at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi for being involved in espionage.
