According to the National Center for Sisamology, on January 22, there was a 4.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale in Tibet. At the same time, earthquake tremors were felt in Tibet on the morning of 21 January. Both earthquakes came at a depth of 10 km from the ground. No one died of this earthquake. However, due to repeated earthquakes, the tension of the people here has increased.
Such earthquakes are dangerous
Such earthquakes are usually more dangerous than deep earthquakes. This is because shallow earthquakes release more energy close to the surface, causing more intense vibration and damage. The region has recently been plagued by earthquakes and shaking, on 24 January, another earthquake of 4.4 magnitude occurred in the region.
126 people died due to earthquake 8 January
Earlier, there was an earthquake on 13 January in Dingri County of Tibetke Shigaje. Earthquake tremors were felt in the area around the holy city of Shigaze at 8:58 pm local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 km. On January 8, there was a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in which 126 people were killed and 188 others were injured. After the January 8 earthquake, more than 640 shocks were felt in the region.
