PM Modi American Visit: During his US visit, the PM while addressing the expatriate community on Sunday presented a new image of India as a confident, emerging power on the world stage.

During this time he presented his vision to transform the country into an economic and technological superpower.

Slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ were raised.

About 15,000 people from 40 states of America had gathered at Nassau Coliseum in suburban New York to listen to PM Modi. There was tremendous enthusiasm among them and they were shouting slogans of ‘Modi, Modi’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’.

PM Modi responded to the warm welcome he received upon entering the event on Twitter. He wrote, ‘The warmth and energy of the Indian diaspora in New York is unparalleled.’

During his one-hour speech, PM Modi touched upon a number of key points – from his meeting with President Joe Biden on Saturday, US-India relations, India’s role in the world to his victory in the Indian elections.

Speaking about India’s newfound prestige in the world, PM Modi said, “Today when India speaks on the global stage, the world listens.”

Comparing India’s ambitions with those of other countries, he said, “We don’t want to dominate the world. We want to help the world prosper.”

PM Modi said that India provides relief to countries in distress across the world. He cited the COVID vaccines that the country sent across the world.

The PM stressed that India’s role will be important in accelerating the global peace process. He said, “When I said some time ago, this is not the era of war, all friends understood its seriousness.”
