PM Modi receives guard of honor in Kuwait.

Kuwait City: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was given the Guard of Honor on Sunday, the last day of his visit to Kuwait. During this, Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Meshal-Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sapha warmly welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Let us tell you that PM Modi is on his two-day visit to the Gulf country, which is the first visit of any Indian Prime Minister in 43 years. Today is the last day of his tour. He is visiting Kuwait at the invitation of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He also talked about there being a strategic partnership between the two countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit said that India and Kuwait have deep and historical relations. Both countries are set to transform their traditional buyer-seller relationship into a strategic partnership by exploring opportunities across the entire oil and gas sector. Modi arrived in Kuwait on Saturday on a two-day visit, the first by an Indian prime minister in four decades. In an interview to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Modi expressed his desire to help efforts that could lead to early restoration of peace in Gaza and Ukraine. He stressed that solutions to such conflicts cannot be found on the battlefield. Prime Minister Modi also reiterated India’s support for a negotiated two-state solution for the establishment of a sovereign, independent and capable state for Palestine.

Immense possibilities for cooperation between India and Kuwait

Kuwait is the sixth largest crude oil supplier and fourth largest LPG supplier to India. Modi said there is immense potential for further cooperation as India is emerging as the third largest global energy, oil and LPG consumer. He said Kuwait has about 6.5 percent of global oil reserves. Modi said the ‘petrochemical’ sector offers another promising opportunity for cooperation, as India’s fast-growing ‘petrochemical’ industry will be worth US$300 billion by 2025. He said the energy partnership between the two countries is not only a pillar of economic relations, but also a driving force for diversified and sustainable development, paving the way towards a future of shared prosperity.

PA Modi said cooperation with Gulf countries is important

Modi said that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is extremely important for India. GCC is an organization of six Middle Eastern countries including Kuwait. He said that India’s relations with the Gulf countries are based on historical, cultural and trade ties. The GCC region accounts for about one-sixth of India’s total trade and is home to about one-third of the Indian diaspora. He said that approximately 90 lakh Indians living in this region (GCC) are contributing positively to its economic growth. The Prime Minister said that the Indian community acts as a living bridge between the two countries. He said trade and commerce have been important pillars of their bilateral relations. In the interview, he expressed happiness that ‘Made in India’ products are making their way to Kuwait. (Language)
