Chile President Gabriel Boric India Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met Chile President Gabriel Borik Font at Hyderabad House in Delhi. Chile’s President Gabriel Borik has come on a five -day visit to India. President Gabriel is accompanied by a high-level delegation which includes ministers, members of Parliament, Business Association and India-Tili cultural relations. This is Borik’s first visit to India as President.
S Jaishankar met the President of Chile
Prior to PM Modi, External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar met Chile’s President Gabriel Borik in Delhi. Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister posted on X and said, “It was happy to meet Chile’s President Gabriel Borik at the beginning of his visit to India.” I appreciate their commitment to deepen our long -term cooperation. I am confident that his conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi will promote a new partnership and more engagement.
Discussion on India-Sili relations
President Borik has discussed aspects of Indo-Til relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Gabriel President Borik will also meet President of India Draupadi Murmu. President Borik will also visit Agra, Mumbai and Bengaluru before returning to Chile on 5 April. Trade between Chile and India has increased in recent years. Bilateral trade between Chile and India has increased from Rs 1545 crore to Rs 3843 crore in 2024 as compared to the year 2020.
Chile has lithium reserves
Chile has the world’s largest lithium reserves. Chile exports 80 percent of Lithium production only to China. Things can also change after Chile’s growing relations with India. The President of Chile’s President is also seen as India’s attempt to give new dimensions to relations with South American countries. Recently, Peru’s Foreign Minister Shiller Sarsedo came on India. It has been agreed to start dialogue between Peru and India soon on the free trade agreement. It is possible that such an agreement with Chile also agreed.
