Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Kuwait from Saturday. PM Modi has been given a guard of honor at ‘Bayan Palace’, the main palace of the Emir of Kuwait, on Sunday. Let us tell you that PM Modi has reached Kuwait on the invitation of Kuwait’s Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. This is the first visit of an Indian PM to Kuwait in the last 43 years. At the same time, seeing the importance of this visit, Kuwait has now honored PM Modi with its biggest honor ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir’.
20th international honor to PM Modi
Kuwait has awarded its highest honor, The Order of Mubarak Al Kabir, to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Let us tell you that this is the 20th international honor given to PM Modi by any country. Mubarak Al Kabir’s honor is regarded as a Kuwaiti knighthood. This honor is awarded to heads of state, foreign sovereigns and members of foreign royal families as a gesture of friendship. Before PM Modi, this honor has been given to foreign leaders like Bill Clinton, Prince Charles and George Bush.
Meeting of PM Modi and Emir of Kuwait
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met Crown Prince of Kuwait Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah and held bilateral talks with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. PM Modi tweeted, “Had a wonderful meeting with the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. We discussed cooperation in key sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, fintech, infrastructure and security between our countries. In line with the close ties, we have elevated our partnership to a strategic level and I am optimistic that our friendship will grow even further in the times to come.” Let us tell you that after this, delegation level talks also took place between India and Kuwait.
