Port Louis: Mauritius has awarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi the “Grand Commander of the Star and Ki of the Indian Ocean” on the occasion of his National Day. This is the highest honor of Mauritius. With this award, the number of international awards of PM Modi has increased to 21. PM Modi has thanked Mauritius government, people there and 140 crore Indians for this.
During this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ambitious approach of India from Mauritius for the safety and development of ‘Global South’. This announcement has been made in the backdrop of China’s tireless efforts to increase its influence in the region. Earlier, Modi and Prime Minister of Mauritius Naveen Chandra Ramgulam signed several important agreements between India and Mauritius. Eight agreements were made between the two sides for cooperation in various fields including maritime security, trade in national currencies and efficiency development.
India’s ‘Ocean’ approach to Global South is a shock to China
Prime Minister Modi announced that India’s new approach to ‘Global South’ – ‘Ocean’ (MAHASAGAR) i.e. ‘mutual and overall advancement for security and development in areas’ (mutual and holistic Advancement for Security and Growth across the regional) will be development and safety. He said on the second and last day of his journey to Mauritius, “We will have a view to” Global South ” -” Ocean ” – that is, mutual and overall advancement for safety and development in areas.” The word “Global South” is usually used to refer to economically less developed countries.
Prime Minister Modi said, “Our approach focuses on business for development, efficiency development for sustainable advancement and mutual security for shared future.” Modi described Mauritius as an important partner of India.
