PM Modi’s highest civilian honor to PM Modi, the first Indian to receive this award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was awarded Mauritius’s highest National Award, Grand Commander of the Star and Ki of the Indian Ocean. Thousands of people gathered at the venue despite heavy rains to see their leader accepting the award on National Day.

Prime Minister Modi said, “I express my heartfelt gratitude for Mauritius’s highest National Award. It is not just my honor, it is an honor of 1.4 billion Indians. It is a tribute to centuries -old cultural and historical relations between India and Mauritius. It is a tribute to regional peace, progress, security and sustainable development. It is a symbol of aspirations. “

Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam, taking the historic step, announced the highest honor to Prime Minister Modi. So far only five foreign dignitaries have received this title, one of which is Nelson Mandela, who received the honor in 1998. This is the 21st International Award given by a country to Prime Minister Modi. While Modi is the first Indian, who has received this award.

Prime Minister Modi dedicated the award to the Indians who migrated to Mauritius and contributed to the lively diversity of the country.

He said, “I accept this award with humility and gratitude. I dedicate it to your ancestors who came to Mauritius from India centuries ago and all his generations. Through his hard work, he wrote a golden chapter in the development of Mauritius and contributed to its lively diversity.”

Prime Minister Modi further said that he is committed to carrying India-Marysus strategic partnership to new heights.

He said, “I accept this honor as a responsibility and confirm our commitment that we will continue to make every effort to take the Indo-Mauritius strategic partnership to new heights.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi discussed all aspects of Indo-Mauritius Friendship with Prime Minister of Mauritius Naveen Chandra Ramgulam. He extended the partnership between the two countries to an increased strategic partnership level.

He said in a post on X, “On the special occasion of Mauritius’ National Day, I got an opportunity to meet my good friend Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam and discuss all aspects of India-Mauritius Friendship. Want to make more progress in areas such as capacity building and sustainable development. ”
