Former Bank of Canada Governor Mark Carney and former Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland are in the race to be elected the next leader of the Liberal Party. Political turmoil intensifies in Canada

This political turmoil in Canada is happening at a time when America’s newly elected President Donald Trump is calling Canada the 51st state and offering Canada to join America. Trump has threatened to impose heavy tariffs on Canada. Recent surveys show that the Liberal Party has little chance of winning the next election. According to the latest survey, the Liberal Party has emerged as the choice of 23 percent people, while the opposition Conservative Party has emerged as the choice of 45 percent people. (AP)
