On this day, I want us all new expectations and wake up our trust in others again, including those who are different from us, or who come from far away countries, bring unfamiliar customs, ways of life and thoughts! Because we are all children of God!
I express my proximity to the sufferings of Christians in Palestine and Israel and all Israeli people and Palestinians. The increasing atmosphere of anti-Jewish spirit worldwide is worrying. Nevertheless, I think of the people of Gaza and especially its Christian community, where terrible struggle is causing death and destruction and causing a dramatic and pathetic human condition. I appeal to the fighting parties: declare the ceasefire, release the hostages and help the people dying of hunger!
Let us pray for Christian communities in Lebanon and Syria, who are currently experiencing a delicate change in their history. I urge the entire church to keep the beloved Middle East Christians in their thoughts and prayers. I also especially think about the people of Yemen, who are facing one of the world’s most serious and long -running human crisis due to war. I invite everyone to find solutions through creative interaction.
Provide Ukraine your Easter gift of peace, destroyed by the revived Christ war, and encourage all parties involved to make efforts with the aim of achieving just and permanent peace. On this festival day, let us remember the South Caucasus and pray that a final peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan be signed and implemented soon.
