He was suffering from complex infections of the lungs, due to which his kidney also started appearing in the early stages of malfunction. Earlier, in 2021, he was admitted to the same Jamelli Hospital in Rome for 10 days.

The statement issued by the Vatican said that “Pope Francis’s Easter died on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the age of 88 at his residence in Kasa Santa Marta of Vatican.”
