Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently one of the most popular leaders in the world. PM Modi is currently on a tour of three countries. First he traveled to Nigeria. Guyana and Barbados have announced to confer their biggest political awards on PM Modi. According to reports, Guyana will confer its highest national award “The Order of Excellence” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, Barbados will honor Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the prestigious honorary “Order of Freedom of Barbados”.
Why is a trip to Guyana important?
This is the first time in more than 50 years that an Indian Prime Minister has visited Guyana. Let us tell you that a large number of population of Indian origin lives in Guyana. Their number is around 3,20,000. When PM Modi reached the airport, Guyana President Irfan Ali along with more than 12 of his cabinet ministers were standing to welcome him. PM Modi will be in Guyana till November 21 and will discuss with its President Mohammed Irfan Ali on giving strategic direction to the unique relationship between the two countries. Apart from this, PM Modi will also meet the leaders of Caribbean partner countries in the second India-CARICOM summit.
How many honors has PM Modi received so far?
A few days before this, Dominica had also announced its highest award “Dominica Award of Honor” for PM Modi. Let us tell you that the number of international honors received by PM Modi from other countries has reached 19 so far.
