Rawanda supported rebel
Goma: Things are deteriorating in a country in Central Africa. Rwanda -backed rebels have claimed that they have captured Goma, the largest city in East Congo in the early hours of Monday. The Congo government said that this is the ‘declaration of war’ by the rebels. At the same time, the United Nations has said about this development that 2 million people of the city are in heavy panic.
Rebels appealed to people to remain calm
The M-23 rebels have announced this to capture the city of Goma in a statement. The rebels announced this announcement shortly before the 48 -hour time limit given by them to launch the arms to the Congo Army. In the statement, the rebels have asked the people of Goma to remain calm and the members of the Congo Army to gather at the Central Stadium.
‘Goma conditions may deteriorate’
According to a United Nations report, more than one third of the North Kivu province has currently displaced and the capture of rebels on Goma can worsen the situation here. Goma city is located in North Kivu province. The United Nations peace soldiers have initiated necessary action on military members who surrendered on the outskirts of the city late on Sunday night.
‘War situation in the country’
In a video posted on the social media platform ‘X’, the Congo government spokesman Patrick Moyaya called for the safety of the citizens and said that there is a war situation in the country. Congo has also broken its diplomatic relations with Rwanda. Congo says Rwanda is supporting rebels.
