Ukraine had taken responsibility for the murder
A day before the assassination of the Russian general, Ukraine’s security service had filed criminal charges against Kirillov. A Ukrainian official had said that the security service carried out this attack. Kirillov was head of the army’s nuclear, biological and chemical security forces.
