Russian President Vladimir Putin
Moscow: Russia on Friday dismissed US President Donald Trump’s claim, stressing that the fall in oil prices globally could not help in ending the Ukraine war. Trump addressed the annual program of the World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland through a video conference from ‘White House’. In his relationship, Trump said on Thursday that the coalition of oil exporting countries is responsible for the war that has been in Ukraine for almost three years as it has kept oil prices very high. “If the price is reduced, the Russia-Ukraine war will end immediately.” Fuel sales have a major contribution in Russia’s earnings.
‘War does not depend on oil prices’
Asked about Trump’s comments, Kremlin (Russian President’s Office) spokesman Dimitri Peskov has responded. Peskov said the Ukrainian conflict began due to the refusal of the West to take into account the Russian security interests. Peskov told reporters, “War does not depend on oil prices. The struggle continues due to the threats created for Russia’s national security, the threats for the Russians living in those areas and refusing to look into the security concerns of the Americans and the Europeans. It has nothing to do with oil prices. ”
Putin is ready to interact with Trump
Dimitri Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is all set to negotiate with his American counterpart Trump. Peskov reiterated Putin’s statements that Ukraine had to send an army to Ukraine in February 2022 to prevent the threat to Russia’s safety and protect the Russian -speaking people living there as a result of the plan to join NATO.
