About 26 drones launched by Ukraine were destroyed in the region bordering Russia’s southwest, Bryansk, the region’s governor Alexander Bogomaz said. More than 10 drones were destroyed in the Voronezh region and several drones were shot down in the Kursk, Lipetsk, Ryazan and Tula regions.
According to the information, there were no injuries or damage as a result of the attacks. There was no immediate comment from Ukraine regarding this attack. Russian regional officials said that Ukraine carried out drone attacks on several targets in Moscow and across Russia throughout Saturday night.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in a post on the Telegram messaging app that several drones were destroyed in the area around Moscow. Ukraine has intensified counter-attacks against Russia over the past few weeks.
Ukrainian forces have been occupying the Russian city of Kursk since August 5 and Russian forces are struggling to liberate the city. As Ukraine’s domestic drone industry grows rapidly, Kiev has reportedly stepped up attacks on Russia. Ukraine has been attacking Russia’s energy, military and transport infrastructure.
