Russia Torture Ukrainian Journalist: The death of Ukrainian journalist Victoria Rushchina is a sad and worrying incident. This incident indicates that Russia has tortured journalists. What has happened to Victoria is nothing short of a war crime. Victoria Roshchina was a 27 -year -old Ukrainian journalist who was investigating atrocities and secret custody in Russia -occupied areas. In August 2023, she went to Enerhodar for reporting, where she was taken into custody by Russian forces. He was then transferred to the Detention Center in Melitopol and then Taganarog, Russia. This detention center is notorious for its cruelty.

Serious torture given

According to The Guardian report, Victoria was placed at Taganarog’s Detention Center for about eight months without any charge. Victoria was tortured in Russian custody, including removing his brain, breaking bones, giving electric shock, giving drugs, hungry and other derogatory acts. In the end, the condition deteriorated so much that he died in September 2024.

Rushchina was a fearless journalist

According to the Guardian report, Rochanna was not just another victim of war. She was one of the most fearless journalists in Ukraine. Body marks on body

In February 2025, Roshchina’s body was assigned to Ukraine during the exchange of prisoners. The body was marked as an unknown male, but the DNA test was identified. Forensic examination found that he had no eyes and brain in his body. It is possible that this was done to hide the evidence of torture. There were signs of burning marks, broken ribs and malnutrition on Roshchina’s body

European Union condemns

Ukrainian prosecutors have described Victoria’s death as war crime and pre -planned murder. President Volodimir Jailonsci and the European Union have strongly condemned the incident and demanded an independent inquiry. Roshchina’s death is another example of the attacks on journalists by Russia. Reporters without Borders and other organizations have demanded Russia to make all the details related to their death public.
