The capsule landed on Earth carrying Russian and American astronauts.

Moscow: America and Russia may be bitter enemies of each other, but you will be surprised to know that on many occasions they maintain such friendship that you will also be shocked to know. Russia and America, who are bitter enemies on earth, have seen amazing friendship in space. Scientists from Russia and America went together on a joint mission in space. Soyuz capsule carrying two Russians and one American citizen from International Space Station (ISS) landed in Kazakhstan on Monday. With this, the long stay of both the Russian astronauts ended.

Anyone who saw this sight experienced the amazing friendship between the Russian and American scientists who returned from space. Let us tell you that about three and a half hours after separating from the ISS, the capsule landed on the plain of Kazakhstan. Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub returned after spending 374 days on the space station, which was their longest continuous stay there. The capsule also carried American Tracy Dyson, who stayed in the space station for six months. Kononenko and Chub left for the space station on September 15, 2023, and on Friday set the record for the longest continuous stay on the ISS. Dyson, in her third mission to outer space, stayed in space for six months.

How many people are in space right now?

There are now eight astronauts left on the space station, including American citizens Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams. Wilmore and Williams were already supposed to return to Earth but some technical disruptions are delaying their return. They arrived in June as the first crew of Boeing’s new Starliner capsule. But their return journey was disrupted due to thruster problems and helium leaks. US space agency NASA had said that it would be too risky to bring them back by Starliner spacecraft. Both astronauts are likely to return to Earth next year by SpaceX’s spacecraft. (AP)
