Saudi Arabia immediately supported the formation of independent Palestinian state at Gaza and 1967 borders

At a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov in Moscow, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said on Friday that “stopping bloodshed and reducing the horrific human conditions of Palestinians in Gaza Strip is the biggest priority of the present time. He stressed the need to immediately abolish the “severe pain” of Palestinian citizens amidst Israeli’s frequent military attacks.

Prince Faisal also reiterated that Saudi Arabia would continue his firm support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders. He said, “Shanti is a strategic option to end this long struggle and eliminate Israeli occupation.” The Saudi Foreign Minister also revealed that Saudi Arabia and France are in mutual interaction to organize an international conference on the Palestinian nation and regional peace and will soon be fixed for a suitable date for it.

Prince Faisal emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy should be prioritized not only in the Middle East, but in all struggle areas. He also said that Saudi Arabia hopes that the region led by President Donald Trump will help to extend the region to a final solution through the Palestinian state formation.

Under recent developments, Palestinian organization Hamas is reviewing proposals that have been presented by the mediators with the objective of ensuring the ceasefire, the refund of the Israeli Army, and the Palestinians. Hamas has repeatedly clarified that he is ready to release all the Israeli hostages, provided that Israel completely eliminates its military campaign and retreats completely from the Gaza Strip.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has opposed such a comprehensive agreement. He has instead instead of limited arrangements, which can continue the war. According to analysts, this attitude is seen as an attempt to save Netanyahu’s political existence.

Despite repeated ceasefire demands by the international community, the Israeli army has continued action like genocide in Gaza. Since October 2023, more than 57,100 Palestinians, including most women and children, have been killed.

Last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant on charges of crime against war crime and humanity in Gaza. In addition, Israel is facing a genocide case for its war on Gaza in the International Court of Court (ICJ).
