Pakistan Army killed nine terrorists
Peshawar: Pakistani security forces have killed at least nine terrorists in three separate campaigns in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the army’s media branch gave this information on Sunday. According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based campaign was launched by security forces in Dera Ismail Khan district. During the campaign, the soldiers effectively fought the terrorists and killed four of them. Another intelligence-based campaign was carried out in the tank district and two more militants were killed in the shooting.
The ISPR said that in the third encounter in Bagh in Khyber district, soldiers successfully killed three more terrorists. Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorists, actively involved in several terrorist activities in these areas.
The statement said that a campaign was launched to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces are ‘firm to end the threat of terrorism from the country’. There has been an increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021, especially in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
