The Athens Institute of Geodynamics has informed that the earthquake on Sunday occurred off the coast of the Chalkidiki Peninsula, about 40 kilometers south-east of Greece’s second largest city, Thessaloniki. The first shock of the earthquake occurred at 7:03 pm local time. At the same time, the second shock occurred after about 4 minutes. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 15.9 kilometers underground.

The police and fire department of the Chalkidiki Peninsula area have informed that no damage has been reported so far due to this earthquake in the area. Earthquake tremors have been felt in a large part of northern Greece. Let us tell you that an earthquake of 3.9 magnitude had occurred in the same area on Saturday.
