Two people were killed and eight others were injured in a mass shooting outside a grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas on Friday, CBS News reported, citing state police.
According to police, the injured individuals included a law enforcement officer whose injuries were not life-threatening.

Arkansas State Police responded to the Mad Butcher grocery store at 11:30 a.m. local time on Friday. Police said the shooter was seriously injured and was taken into custody.
Arkansas governor’s response
Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said she had been briefed on the shooting in Fordyce and was in close contact with police at the scene.
Sanders said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “I have been briefed on the tragic shooting in Fordyce, and I am in constant contact with State Police at the scene. I am grateful to law enforcement and first responders for their quick and heroic actions. My prayers are with the victims and everyone affected by this horrific incident.”
Previous incident in Michigan
Last week, at least eight people, including two children, were injured in a shooting attack at an entertainment area in Michigan, US. The suspect behind the attack was later found dead in a nearby home, CNN reported citing authorities.
The incident happened at the Brooklands Plaza splash pad in Rochester Hills. Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said the suspect was found dead in a nearby home.
Those injured in the attack were taken to several hospitals with “various types of injuries.” The sheriff said at least one person underwent surgery and did well. Bouchard said one of the injured was eight years old, but could not provide the ages of the others.
