Nitra (Slovakia): President Draupadi Murmu was awarded an honorary doctoral degree of doctoral for ‘Constintine the Philosopher’ University here on Thursday for ‘his specific contribution to public service “. President Slovakia and Portugal reached the university campus to receive the honor on the last day of their four -day visit. The university said in a statement that President Murmu is being honored for his specific contribution, social justice and advocacy in public service and governance.
The statement said that Murmu has contributed to the conservation and promotion of education, empowerment of women and cultural and linguistic diversity. The President said in his address that she is accepting respect for 1.4 billion people of India. Murmu said that receiving honorary degrees from the institute named philosopher St. Contentine Cyril especially matters as he had a special contribution in language, education and philosophy. Murmu, who works for the preservation of linguistic and cultural diversity of India with cultural beliefs of Santhali language, said that she appreciates the power of language in shaping identity and promoting knowledge. President Murmu watched a puppet program based on Ramayana with children
President Draupadi Murmu, who visited Slovakia’s two -day state visit, witnessed a Ramayana -based puppet program with Slovakian children on Thursday. In the initial scene of the program, King Dasharatha asks his son Ram to go with Vishwamitra. Centered on the Ramayana, the children kept watching the program as soon as the puppet show started in Slovak language. The art of puppet is quite ancient through which Ramayana was staged. This 45 -minute program was conceived by Lord Krishna’s devotee and a fan of Indian culture, Lenka Mukova. The event was attended by 150 Slovak students along with President Murmu. (Language)
