Sri Lanka on Sunday released at least 14 Indian fishermen as a special initiative. In the media briefing on Saturday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egyptian said that the issue of fishermen was “discussed in great detail” between the two sides. He said, “As the Prime Minister himself said during his statement, the need to adopt human and creative approach to cooperation on these issues was emphasized as these are issues that eventually affect the livelihood of fishermen on both sides of the Pak Gulf.”
