United Nations: The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) discussed the issue in a closed room over the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. During the discussion, the ambassadors called for restraint and communicating. During this, strict questions were also asked from Pakistan. Regarding the UNSC meeting, former permanent representative Ambassador to the United Nations Syed Akbaruddin said that Pakistan’s condition in the international community is such that no one pays attention to its words.
‘Not expecting results from such discussion’
Syed Akbaruddin also said that the threat of nuclear attack on the suspension of the Indus Water Agreement has no effect on India. Earlier, Syed Akbaruddin had said that such a discussion could not expect any results “where a party involved in the conflict tries to shape the discourse using his membership of the council. India will thwart such Pakistani efforts. ”
United Nations General Secretary expressed concern
Shortly before the meeting in a closed room between India and Pakistan, United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres had expressed concern over the highest number of tension levels between India and Pakistan in the last several years. He had said, “I am sad to see that the relationship has reached such a condition.”
‘It is unacceptable to target citizens’
Antonio Guterres also said that he understands the feelings of the people after the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He also strongly condemned the terrorist attack. He had said that it is unacceptable to target citizens and those responsible for it should be brought to the dock of justice. (Language)
