Tawwur Rana, accused of the Mumbai terror attack, may be extradited from America soon “from America. Sources gave this information.
According to government sources in India, a team of various agencies from India has come to America and all paper and legal procedures are being completed with American officials.
Sources said that there is a “highly possibility” that Rana can be “extradited soon.” It is also believed that Rana will not be brought to India on Wednesday and the process of extradition is going on.
Some time ago, Rana’s petition was dismissed by the judges of the US Supreme Court, after which his final attempt to avoid being extradited to India had failed.
On 27 February, Rana submitted before the US Supreme Court Associate Judge and ‘Ninth Circuit’ Circuit Judge Elena Kagan to ‘Emergency application to stop the pending trial of the habeas corpus petition’. Kagan rejected the application earlier last month.
Rana then renewed his application, and requested that renewed application be sent to Chief Justice John Roberts.
An order posted on the Supreme Court website states that Rana’s renewed application was listed for the ‘Conference’ of 4 April 2025 and “application” has been sent to the court. “
On Monday, a notice on the Supreme Court website said that ‘the court has rejected the application’.
Rana is considered associated with Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley, one of the main conspirators of the attacks on 26 November 2008 (26/11).
A total of 166 people, including six Americans, were killed in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. These attacks were carried out by 10 Pakistani terrorists.
