26/11 Mumbai Attack: 26/11 One of the main accused of the Mumbai terror attacks, Tawwur Hussain Rana has been extradited from America from America. One of the main conspirators of the Tahwwur 2008 Mumbai terror attacks is close to David Coleman Headley alias Dawood Gilani. Rana had worked in the Pakistan Army Medical Corps before going to Canada in the late 1990s and started an immigration consultancy firm. He later moved to America.
Rana in NIA custody
Currently, the NIA has taken Tawwur Hussain Rana into custody for 18 days. NIA Rana will be questioned to find out the entire conspiracy behind the 26/11 terror attack. Rana was brought to India on Thursday after extradition from the US and was formally produced in the NIA special court at Patiala House after arresting him when he arrived at Indira Gandhi International Airport here. NIA court Special Judge Chandrajit Singh sent him to 18 days custody while the NIA requested his 20 -day custody.
‘Indians are entitled to this
Meanwhile, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) said in a statement that after the attacks on India’s financial capital Mumbai, Rana told Headley that Indians are ‘entitled’. The Department of Justice said that “in an intercepted conversation with Headley, Rana praised the 9 Lashkar terrorists who were killed in the attack, and said” he should be given Nishan-e-Hader. “
Attack on 26 November 2008
On 26 November 2008, 10 Pakistani militants attacked CST, two luxurious hotels and a Jewish center after entering India’s economic capital by sea route. Indian security forces killed 9 terrorists involved in the Mumbai attacks. Ajmal Aamir Kasab, the only living terrorist to attack, was hanged in 2012.
