Peshawar: Two police personnel were shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Monday in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Officials have given information about this. The incident took place near the Tanda Dam in Kohat district, about 65 km south of the provincial capital Peshawar. After killing police personnel, unknown gunmen managed to escape from the spot.
Death on the spot
Officials said that the sub-inspector of the Anti-Terrorism Department was traveling with a soldier when unidentified gunmen attacked him in the Tanda dam area and both died on the spot. Police said the bodies of both have been sent to a nearby hospital for post -mortem.
Nobody took responsibility for the attack
The police team reached the spot and surrounded the entire area and a large -scale search operation is on for the arrest of the attackers. However, no group has taken responsibility for this attack so far. Terrorists generally target intelligence agencies and officials associated with departments who are related to the arrest of terrorists.
Police personnel are on target
This is not the first case of attack on police personnel in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Earlier, many policemen were killed or injured in unknown assailants attacks. Recently, police personnel were attacked in Darban Kalan in Dera Ismail Khan district. Unknown assailants escaped after the attack. (Language)
