Terrorist Tehwavur Rana will be brought to India.
Washington: The US Supreme Court dismissed the revision petition filed against India’s extradition of Tahwwur Rana, convicted of the Mumbai attack. Along with this, the Supreme Court of America has approved the extradition of terrorist Tahavvur Rana. Canadian citizen of Pakistani origin Tawwur Rana is wanted in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. India was requesting his extradition. This was the last legal chance for Tehwavur Rana not to be extradited to India.
Earlier, Tahwwur Rana had lost a legal battle in several federal courts including the US Appeal Court for North Circuit in San Francisco. Tahwwur Rana filed a revision petition before the US Supreme Court on 13 November. The Supreme Court rejected his appeal on 21 January, a day after Donald Trump was sworn in as US President. The Supreme Court said, “The petition is dismissed.” Tawwur Rana is currently detained in Los Angeles’s ‘Metropolitan Detention Center’. (Input-PTI)
