Karachi: At least three security personnel have been killed in two separate terrorist attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Police has given information about this on Sunday. Militants attacked a check post near a coal mine in Duki district on Saturday, killing two Frontier Corps soldiers and injuring three other soldiers, a senior police officer, Sardar Rind, said.

Police said the attackers used rockets, grenades and heavy weapons during the hours-long attack. The official said the security forces retaliated effectively, resulting in the killing and injury of several attackers. However, the exact number of terrorists has not been confirmed.
Coast Guard patrol team targeted
In another attack in Jiwani town of Gwadar, terrorists targeted a Pakistan Coast Guard patrol with an improvised explosive device (IED) near a lighthouse in Daran area. Police said that a security personnel died in this attack.

Tension spread in Kalat
Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Kalat town when unidentified people set fire to a monument near the historic Miri Fort. Officials said the monument, a symbol of Baloch culture, was badly damaged in the arson and two statues were destroyed. He said the incident was widely condemned by local residents who expressed anger over the destruction of a cultural icon. (Language)
