Karachi: A conspiracy was hatched to fly a base of the Pakistani Air Force in a terrorist attack. But the conspiracy was revealed in time. This saved the base of the Air Force from flying. Pakistan’s intelligence agencies have claimed to thwart this major terrorist conspiracy being hatched by the Air Force’s strategically important Masroor base. This information was given in a media news on Friday.
According to a report in the ‘Jung’ newspaper, intelligence agencies raided this week and arrested nine suspected militants who were tasked to attack Masroor Airbase. These militants were arrested from their shelters in Karachi and five of them were identified as Afghan persons. Citing intelligence sources in the news, it was said that these militants had entered Pakistan from Afghanistan a month ago and for the last one month they were living in an area near the airbase and were taking the area to carry out their plans.
A large amount of ammunition was kept for the attack
In this regard, a source said that militants were tasked to attack the base using “huge amounts of ammunition and explosives”. The news said that the attack was planned by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and it was led by a high-level militant of the group. It said that the militant fled to Afghanistan after killing a Chinese citizen in Karachi a few months ago. TTP militants launched major attacks on Pakistan Navy Airbase in Karachi in 2011, Karachi Dockyard in 2014 and Karachi Airport in the same year. (Language)
