Clint Johnson, who led NTSB in the Alaska region, said that the investigation has so far revealed that the aircraft was overweight. The final report may take a year or more to prepare. The report stated that a review of the contents of the aircraft after the accident revealed that its estimated weight was 4,475 kg at the time of departure, that is, the ‘takeoff’ of the aircraft was about 480 kg higher for icy conditions. Even smaller aircraft should be less than 10450 pounds i.e. 4740 kg.
