While virtually addressing an Awami League program in New York, Sheikh Hasina blamed Mohammad Yunus for the attacks on temples, churches and religious organization ISKCON. Hasina said, ‘I was accused of mass murders. In fact it is Mohammed Yunus, who along with the students is involved in the mass murders as part of a well-planned plan. He is the mastermind of these attacks.

Hindus, Buddhists and Christians are all being killed.

Referring to the atrocities against minorities in the country, Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Today teachers and police are all being attacked and killed. Hindus, Buddhists, Christians are being targeted. Churches and many temples have been attacked. Now why are minorities being targeted in Bangladesh?

The former prime minister claimed that like his father and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, he too had a plan to assassinate him. Hasina said she left Bangladesh because she did not want ‘genocide’.

The former PM said, ‘If I had wanted to remain in power, there would have been a massacre. When people were being killed indiscriminately, I decided that I should leave. If my security personnel had opened fire, many people would have been killed and dead bodies would have been scattered in Gana Bhawan (PM House). I didn’t want this.

Sheikh Hasina came to India after fleeing Bangladesh
