The arrest of Hindu leader Chinmay Das further worsens
A few days after Hasina left for India, Mohammad Yunus became the head of the interim government. The relationship between the two countries worsened after attacks on Hindus and the arrest of Saint Chinmay Krishna Das. After Hasina was removed from the post, there was an increase in incidents of violence against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, as well as attacks on temples, causing deep concerns in India. In December, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Dhaka. During his brief visit, he met Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Mohammad Jasim-Uddin. (Language)
